when is it best to plant seeds from weed

The seed can easily break through the top of the soil without drying out. Again, placing a mark on the pencil can help you see when to stop pushing it down.

You can place the pot by the window sill or under a light. Wait a few days, and you will see the plant emerge from the soil.

Try not to cover the pots with plastic or create a humidity dome over them. Air needs to pass through easily, and a buildup of humidity may damage the plant. Besides avoiding the wrong soil, make sure it is not too wet or too dry. Whenever you water the seedling, make sure it does not have the wrong pH level.

How Deep to Plant Marijuana Seeds in Soil?

After you are done filling the pot with soil, make a small hole for the germinated cannabis seed. Since the seedling is tiny, a clean pen or pencil can make the dimple the appropriate size. Place the writing tool on top of the soil and push it down to create the dimple. The depth of a hole matters for the growth of a weed seed.

Some seeds may be tricky to plant and grow, but you do not need much regarding cannabis seeds. You will notice that many of the tools are already in your home. If you need to get any additional items, you can find them in a regular store or garden center. The list of equipment includes:

Finish things off by spraying the surface with a plant sprayer to make the soil moist. Seeds need to remain moist, so you should frequently check the dirt to make sure it has enough water for healthy plant growth.

The seed has enough energy to push through a thin layer. The farther down it is, the more likely the soil could hinder the plant’s ability to grow. It might not be able to get the light it needs, and the stem could become weak. If you believe you planted the germinated seed too deep, try brushing away some soil instead of repositioning the plant.

For young plants, it’s best to use bottled water as it has no chlorine added. If using tap water, let it sit for 24 hours before watering to dissipate any chlorine. Chlorine can also be eliminated by boiling for 20 minutes. Under normal conditions, after soaking your seedling pellet, it should contain all the moisture your plant needs before it comes above ground. As it grows, it will only need about a shot glass worth of water at most per week to keep the medium damp. Seedlings don’t drink a lot of water, which makes sense given their size. Your plant will do better in a growing medium which is damp. Overwatering is just as deadly as drying out.

Seedlings require a medium amount of light in which it has enough to grow but not too much light that it gets burned. Leaving your seedling in direct sunlight will cause the leaves to curl, while too little light will cause the seedling to stretch. If growing outside, seedlings want to see a direct light source to stop them stretching. If inside, a sunny windowsill with more than half a day of sunlight works wonders. Otherwise, 18 in away from a growing light works excellently. Your seedling should not stretch more than 6 in at most. We’ll cover lighting in more depth in a later blog.

1) Soaking your seed

Marijuana seedlings are very sensitive to light, and therefore you should ensure that you provide just the right amount of light. If grown outside, seedlings should be provided with direct sunlight. If inside, provide them with half a day of sunlight through a sunny window sill.

Knowing how to grow a small weed plant is likely the hardest part of actually growing it. Now that you know what to do, you are well on your way to enjoying hassle-free, home-grown marijuana.

Perhaps the most exciting stage, your baby will typically come above ground in 1-2 weeks. As your seedling comes above the soil, its shell might take a few days to fall off. It’s best to leave it alone, nature has the job covered. If it does not come above ground after about two weeks, the chance of success is dramatically reduced, and it’s best to try again. Even the best seeds have an 85% germination rate. When your seedling comes above ground, it is going to want to see a direct light source.
